Why clinical
hypnotherapy?
Clinical hypnotherapy
can help to address many of the challenges we
encounter in our everyday lives. A variety of
symptoms, both physical and emotional, can be
successfully treated with hypnotherapy.
One of hypnotherapy’s
most-recognised attributes is its value in helping
us to change habits we may have held for many years,
but which now perform a negative or obstructive role
in our lives.
For example, it can
remove deeply held fears. These irrational fears are
often rooted in childhood experiences, which simply
need re-evaluation.
Hypnotherapy can help
change habits we no longer desire, such as nail
biting, smoking, or over-eating. It can remove the
blocks that stop us achieving our desired goals;
such as resistance to good habits like regular
exercise. It can boost confidence and self-esteem.
Or it can simply teach us how to relax.
But what is
hypnotherapy?
Clinical hypnotherapy
is the use of hypnosis as the means of conducting
therapy.
Hypnosis is simply a
natural state of deep relaxation, which is calming
to mind, body and spirit. This calm state gives
access to the inner, subconscious mind, where all
our deepest memories, feelings and habits are
stored. In this state of deep relaxation positive,
therapeutic suggestions are more readily received.
During a clinical hypnotherapy session, the
therapist will first guide the client into this
deeply relaxed state.
Then a gentle process
of introducing positive suggestions takes place.
These suggestions are individually tailored
according to each client’s goals. The client is then
guided back to full alertness.
It really is that simple. In
every hypnotherapy session, you will be given
suggestions to help create your desired changes in
habit or behaviour. And then you will return to
wakeful alertness feeling refreshed and
energised.
